Tool is simply hard rock. NIN is industrial rock and RHCP is more funk/punk rock(in the 90's). Band's that were left off that need to be on are: Jane's Addiction, Mudhoney and maybe someone like Smashing Pumpkins (90's albums). Anyone who says linkin park or korn or any of those Nu-metal bands need to do research on music genres. Tool, NIN, RHCP need not be in this list. Tool is simply hard rock.
